                     Long Island Lighthouse Tours

On August 12th, LIPOG members and their friends and families met to drive out to the South Shore of Long Island to visit the Fire Island Lighthouse. We then traveled to the North Shore to visit the Huntington Harbour Lighthouse. At the Fire Island Lighthouse we were given a tour by Robert, one of our LIPOG members who has volunteered at the lighthouse. We learned about the history of the lighthouses as well as the ongoing restoration of 2 of Long Islands landmarks. We had 21 participants to this event.

Our next stop was a local restaurant where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and good conversation.
